What to expect

Your first consultation, step by step

A braces or aligner consultation is mostly about listening and looking — here's how the appointment is structured, from the moment you sit down to the plan you leave with.

01

Getting to know your smile

We start with a conversation — what's bothering you about your teeth or bite, any previous dental or orthodontic history, and what you're hoping treatment can achieve.

02

Clinical examination

A close look at your teeth, gums, and bite — how your upper and lower teeth meet, crowding or spacing, and jaw alignment. This is quick and non-invasive.

03

Photographs & scans

Intraoral photos and, where needed, a digital scan or X-ray are taken to get a full picture of your teeth and jaw structure. These form the basis of your treatment plan.

04

Discussing your options

Based on what we find, we go through which treatments suit your case — braces, aligners, or a combination — along with realistic timelines and what each option involves day to day.

05

Your plan & next steps

You'll leave with a clear recommendation, an estimated treatment duration, and cost breakdown, plus space to think it over before deciding how to proceed.

Good to know before you come in

  • Consultations typically run 30–45 minutes.
  • Bring any recent dental X-rays or records if you have them — not essential, but helpful.
  • There's no obligation to start treatment on the day of your consultation.
  • Both adults and teenagers are welcome; a parent or guardian should accompany patients under 18.
